Luxurious Bed Linen Print E-mail
Monday, 14 May 2007
Luxurious bed linen can provide not only a beautiful bedroom, but also a restful sleeping experience. Poor quality bed linens may be scratchy and pill or wrinkle easily. Fine quality luxurious bed sheets offer a crisp, cool, clean night’s sleep for many years to come. When shopping for bed sheets, there are several markers of quality that the buyer should consider. The majority of luxurious bed sheets are pure cotton, with Egyptian cotton being preferred; however, linen, silk and blends are also an option in fine quality bed linen.

The most important information that the bed linen manufacturer provides on their packaging is thread count. Thread count tells you the number of threads in each square inch of the bed linen fabric. Higher numbers mean a smoother surface, a tighter weave, and a more durable end product. While low quality sheets may be two hundred thread counts, in comparison luxurious bed linen may have a thread count of six hundred or more.

Luxurious bed linens are most often white or ivory, but high quality bed sheets are available in a variety of colors. Stripes, dots or other simple patterns may be woven into the bed linen using damask weaving techniques as opposed to printed onto the fabric. With gentle care, your fine quality luxurious bed sheets will last for years to come.
Whether you simply need a new set of bed sheets for your bed, or you are redecorating your entire room, the investment in luxurious bed linens will pay off in both durability and enjoyment.
