Most of us know that filmmakers have been using movie editing software for many years, helping to create the exciting special effects that we see at the movies all the time. What is just as exciting these days, however, is that there is now movie editing software available for everyone, giving us the ability to take our normal home videos and pictures and add some wonderful effects of our own.
Perhaps there is an event coming up, such as a close relative’s birthday or your parents’ anniversary. More than likely, you have some pictures and perhaps even some home videos of these people. With the use of movie editing software, you can take these pictures and/or videos and create something special for them. Through the use of video editing software, you can make a special movie where slides of pictures are shown along with background music, or certain video images are spliced together and allowed to fade in and out, where some are shown in slow motion, or others are speeded up. Using a scanner, photos from digital cameras, and moving video images, you can create a photo and video history of someone’s life, with their favorite music playing in the background. When you use movie editing software, you can really use your imagination to create something that is unique. Film students can practice different special effects and create short film stories; normal “laypeople” can create documentaries about their favorite causes. Anyone can play with movie editing software these days; and some of us end up being amazed at our own movie making talents. |
